TARIFA 4-8 December
In order to attend the face-to-face sessions, you will need to buy tickets in advance following this link. You can buy your tickets up to 10 minutes before the start of the session.

The tickets will be nominal in order to guarantee traceability, if necessary. The contact details that will be collected will be used exclusively for this purpose. Your contact details will be kept and stored for a period of no less than three months and no more than nine months, in accordance with current legislation on data privacy protection.

The theater’s doors will open to the public 30 minutes before the start of each session. Doors will close 5 minutes before the start, therefore please come in advance.


FILMIN 9-13 December
For the online film sessions, you will need to buy the tickets on the FILMIN platform following this link. Tickets will be available between 9 and 13 December 2020.


Debates, round tables, training
You can browse all the information about the virtual meetings of the Palaver Tree and register for the webinars here. They will be available on the Youtube Channel., to which we encourage you to subscribe.

Important information

1. No ticket refunds, no changes of sessions, no cancellations will be accepted.
2. The ticket must be presented in printed pdf format or on a smartphone (QR code) at the indicated access door.
3. During the days of the festival, there will be an information point in Tarifa’s Alameda Theatre and in Santa Maria hall, the festival’s two screening locations in this edition. We will be there to help you buy your ticket if you have not been able to do so.

A COVID-19 security protocol will be established that must be respected in each and every one of the spaces.
This protocol includes the disinfection of hands with hydroalcoholic gel before accessing the sessions and the obligatory use of a mask at all times (unless the corresponding exemption certificate is presented).
The entrance and exit routes will be duly signposted.
Each spectator must take the seat assigned to him/her, and may not take any other seat or move the chair he/she is occupying.
At the end of the show, festival staff will show you how to leave the venue in an organised, staggered and controlled manner.
Between sessions, every single surface in the screening hall will be sanitised by the festival’s staff.

Planning your stay

We know some of you need to plan your stay in advance to come over the African Film Festival (FCAT). This is why we would like to give you the essential information you would need in order to make easier your trip to the Strait.

How to get there

We provide detailed information on three links where we explain the best ways to get to Tarifa and Tánger on the different transport options available. We also recommend several Tarifa´s hotels and restaurants that would make your stay unforgettable.

By train
  • The nearest train station is Algeciras (Cádiz) which connects with the Spanish capital, Madrid. Once in Algeciras you must catch bus M-150 (Comes company) from Algeciras to Tarifa (20km)
By bus
  • From Sevilla: Prado de San Sebastian Bus Station - Comes company bus Sevilla.
  • From Cádiz: Comes company buses depart every day (around 2hours).
  • From Algeciras (Cádiz): Comes company bus M-150.
  • From Madrid: Comes company bus Daibus.
By plane

The nearest airports are:

  • San Pablo Airport – Sevilla SVQ (207km)
  • Costa del Sol Airport – Málaga AGP (151km)
  • Federico García Lorca Airport – Granada/Jaén GRX (269km)
  • Jerez Airport – Jerez de la Frontera XRY (130km)
  • Gibraltar International Airport – Gibraltar GIB (42,7km)
  • Tangier Boukhalef Airport – Tangier (49,9km – connection by ferry)
By car
  • From Sevilla: taking highway E-5 / AP-4 and A-381 to exit A-396. You will need to make a turn left to road N-340 to Tarifa/Algeciras/Vejer de la Fra./Barbate.
  • From Cádiz: taking A-48 and then N-340.
  • From Málaga: leaving from M-20, taking AP-7 to N-40.
  • From Madrid: taking A-$, E-902/ A-44, A-92 and AP-7, until taking N-340 once you passed Algeciras.
By ferry
